With our first donation, Cling was able to provide basic needs for starving children. We sent the money with Travis Shultz to an urban city in Guatemala. There Travis and his friends quickly recognized the importance of the individual. To love and respect the person we must come in close contact with him (Mother Teresa)...

They met Mayra. She was isolated from society both deaf and homeless, a mother of three young children, striving for survival. Unable to clothe, feed, or provide shelter, she carried and unshakable burden.

Responding without hesitation, Travis and his friends were able to comfort and provide for this family. The donations from Cling contributed to the care of these three children allowing them to eat their first meal of the day as well as provide shelter for an entire month! Mayra and her children were, if only for a moment, not merely numbers. This truly was a person-to-person ministry. And in this moment, a beautiful woman soured as ALL their needs we attended to. This family undoubtedly experienced God's love.

This is what Cling strives to be all about. Providing for children and if only for a moment, letting them know they are loved and that someone cares.

Travis said that this experience transcended talk of Catholic or Protestant, Baptist or Lutheran, he said it was just simply showing them the love of Christ and he thankfully added that it was one of the coolest things he has ever been able to be part of.
